Product coding is a critical element of the supply chain for both manufacturers and consumers. Food packaging must include information such as: the name of the food, list of ingredients, net quantity of food, minimum durability date or use-by date, nutritional value, and the name or business name and address of the entity placing the product on the market.

Labeling

The first method for marking packaging with such a large amount of data is label application. In Poland, one of the requirements for manufacturers is to label products in Polish. The method of label application depends on its placement and the shape of the product. Intrex heads enable side label application/ wrap-around application/ edge application or even multiple labels at once. Thanks to the ability to manipulate the product on the conveyor belt, we are always able to apply it with precision.

Printing

Marking can also be carried out directly on the product using inkjet technology.“Inkjet” Printers deposit ink droplets onto packaging, creating any alphanumeric characters or graphics. The Domino CX 350 printer model is designed for printing data on collective packaging, directly onto cardboard.

Other commonly used technologies include laser technology, which ensures durable marking on high-speed production lines without the use of consumables. There is also thermal transfer technology, which, in an appropriate form, fuses the ribbon onto the product material. It works perfectly for printing on film or overprinting data onto a finished label.
