The automotive industry is an environment where micrometers, seconds, and flawless repeatability matter. Every part must be marked, inspected, and moved further along the process — without delays and without compromising on quality. That’s why more and more manufacturers are implementing automated marking and quality control systems, eliminating manual operations and the risk of human error.
One such project is the implementation carried out by Intrex for DE FACTO Zbigniew Sitek Spółka Jawna, a manufacturer of components for the automotive industry. The client was looking for a solution that would ensure stable marking quality, full traceability of parts in line with industry standards, and verification of marking accuracy. The entire process was to run in automatic mode, minimizing operator involvement.
Challenges faced by the team
- Ensuring stable laser marking quality
- Full traceability of parts in compliance with automotive industry standards
- Real-time verification of applied markings
- Fully automatic operation, minimizing operator involvement
- Maintaining ergonomic operation and simplicity of daily use
Solution: an automated marking and vision inspection station from Intrex
The designed system combines a YASKAWA industrial robot, responsible for handling components, TYKMA Electrox laser handling marking and Cognex vision system, overseeing the accuracy of the markings applied. Intrex was responsible for the entire process: from the mechanical concept, through the integration of automation and software, to the commissioning of the line at the customer’s site.
Implementation results
- Speeding up the marking process
- Standardized, repeatable marking quality
- Reduced operator workload
- Reduced number of manual inspection tasks
- Stable production continuity
