What are 2D vision systems and how do they work?

Control and inspection

Analyzes flat images in X and Y axes, performing presence control and assembly verification tasks.
Identification, OCR and OCV

Fast image processing enables stable reading of 2D codes and optical character recognition (OCR) combined with verification of their graphic correctness (OCV).
Part localization

Systems determine the position and geometric orientation of parts in space. This allows for object localization and transmission of precise coordinates to executive systems.
Image geometry

Detection effectiveness is based on contrast analysis. A 2D system, with proper calibration, can indirectly detect certain three-dimensional features.
