Challenges facing the team:
- Top and bottom labeling of delicate praline boxes
- High susceptibility of products to damage
- The need to operate non-stop, without slowing down the line
- Label presence verification required
Solution:
Due to the client’s requirements, two pairs of INTREX 200+ active heads were used, operating in a non-stop configuration, with box transport between side belts fitted with pads that hold the products in place during labeling without damaging them. To ensure label presence control, presence sensors and a reject station with a ramp were implemented. The entire process is overseen by a B&R Automation controller. Additionally, the labeling machine exchanges digital signals with neighboring machines on the line. Implementation results

- Two pairs of INTREX 200+ active print heads providing top and bottom labeling in non-stop mode
- Side belts with pads protecting delicate products from damage
- Presence sensors and a reject station with a chute ensuring 100% label inspection
- B&R Automation controller with signal integration with adjacent machines in the line
This project demonstrates that even when working with delicate products, it is possible to combine high labeling precision with full automation and integration with the rest of the production line — without compromising quality or work pace.
